A lovely set of 8 vintage Soviet pocket calendars issued for the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. Each card has a calendar grid on the reverse (one of 1978, 1979 or 1980) and a colourful illustrated Olympic design on the front. Some are from the Plakat Publishing House, others from Yakub Kolas (Minsk). One is from the All-Union Society of Philatelists (VOF) - the Soviet stamp-collectors' association - under the Ministry of Communications of the USSR. A vivid snapshot of Soviet graphic design and state-sponsored Olympic promotion at the height of the Cold War. Condition: Vintage, used.
