Up for sale is a beautiful vintage cast iron reproduction "The Sun Insurance Company" fire insurance mark plaque. This piece features the famous "Sun in Splendour" motif with a gold-painted face and rays against a vibrant blue painted backdrop, sitting above a rectangular gold panel stamped with the historical founding date of "1710" Maker's Mark: Stamped with "Salop Iron" on the reverse. Made in Shropshire, circa 1970s. Material: Heavy Cast Iron. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minimal wear. Bold, clean painted finish. No cracks or damage (please see photos).
