boatswain's call, also known as a bosun's whistle. It is a type of pipe or whistle used on naval ships by a boatswain to issue commands to the crew. The high-pitched sound could be heard over the sounds of the sea and bad weather. The design on the buoy of the whistle, a fouled anchor, is a symbol of the Royal Navy This is just over 3” long There are dents on the pipe end but it does not affect the whistle.
