The Ringrose Automatic Firedamp Alarm, model 47/125, is a vintage mining memorabilia piece produced by Iinternational Gas Detectors Ltd of Leeds. This unique design was developed from a prototype in 1929 by the inventor Henry Ringrose and after extensive trials between 1931 - 1935 it became the standard electrical firedamp detector used throughout the NCB. This particular model was the last manufactured model and would have been produced between 1950 and 1970. A history brochure will be supplied together with this item to the buyer.
