It was founded as the successor to the SABA record label and was the first German label to exclusively release jazz recordings. The label’s roster included, besides Peterson, George Duke, the Kenny Clarke/Francy Boland Big Band, Jean-Luc Ponty, Lee Konitz, Charlie Mariano, Alphonse Mouzon, Monty Alexander, Dave Pike, and others.
