Bronze participation medal from the 1948 Olympics held in London. It commemorates the XIV Olympiad. Participation medals were given to athletes and officials at the Games. The obverse side features a view of London's cityscape, including the Houses of Parliament. The reverse side shows a quadriga, a chariot drawn by four horses, with a triumphant winner. It was designed by Bertram Mackennal and produced by John Pinches of London. The medal is made of bronze and measures 51 mm in diameter. It has slight markings as indicated in the photographs but is in his condition for its age. I combine postage wherever possible.
