Finding an early RUC issue bearing the original 1908 patent cap is an exceptional rarity. The 1908 patent cap stamping was entirely phased out by J. Hudson & Co. by late 1922. Because these two events overlapped for less than six months this whistle can be definitively dated to the very inception months of the RUC in 1922.
