Antique “The Metropolitan” Patent whistle by J. Hudson & Co, 131 Barr Street, Birmingham. Dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, this is a classic British police / railway style whistle. Stamped: THE METROPOLITAN PATENT J. HUDSON & CO 131 BARR ST BIRMINGHAM Nickel-plated brass construction with suspension loop. Condition: • Surface wear and plating loss • Areas of corrosion consistent with age • Loop intact • Internal pea present • Untested but produces sound when blown A genuine early Hudson whistle and a desirable piece of British policing or industrial history.
