The product is a rare and unique item from 2002, a knee slider used by motorcycle racer Daijiro Kato in his AlpineStars gear. This particular piece was worn during a race, making it a valuable piece of motor sport memorabilia. Unfortunately Daijiro succumbed to injuries he sustained from a crash at the final chicane whilst competing in the MotoGP race at Suzuka in 2003. Hence the rarity of this item. I purchased this for my collection many years ago and it has lived in its box out of sunlight.
