These are two vintage Christian Brothers St Josephs (NEWTOWN, NSW, AUSTRALIA) first-year certificates, hailing from the years 1950 and 1953, respectively. They were mounted on cardboard by 'Ernie Newman Pictures Framers' of King St Newtown and offer a tangible link to to the 1950s, an interesting era in Australian educational history. The 1950 'PASS AWARD' measures 19 cm x 23 cm, whilst the 1953 certificate measures 29 cm x 22.5 cm and both are in good condition with just a few age browning spots.
