During October 1941 and following the bombing of the Bolshoi Theatre, the ballet was evacuated with other Soviet cultural and diplomatic institutions to Kuibyshev, now Samara. Which translates as: Branch of the State Order of Lenin Academic Bolshoi Theatre of the USSR.
